It’s not exactly local-local, but the Billings Gazette has put out a call for submissions to a kind of battle-of-the-bands they’ll be running this summer. Here’s the info about it; it’s open to any Montana or Wyoming rock, blues, country or pop band.
The Billings Gazette’s Enjoy, in conjunction with Magic City Blues, is hosting the Enjoy Band Idol contest. It is open to any Montana or Wyoming rock, blues, country or pop band that has enough material to play a 90-minute set.
Submissions open today and run through June 17. Bands may submit their video to billingsgazette.com/bandidol.
The field will be narrowed by Magic City Blues promoters Tim and Pam Goodridge and the top videos will be posted online on The Billings Gazette’s website. Readers will vote on their favorite band and the top three bands will be invited to perform July 30 at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Co.’s Garage Pub.
The winner of the Enjoy Band Idol contest will also be featured in an Enjoy cover story and open for the award-winning Chicago Mass Choir on Aug. 14 at Magic City Blues at South Park.
